Find Success With Your Endcap and Stackout Displays

Merchandising tools such as endcaps and stackouts provide retailers with ways to make their product selection stand out while making the most of the space on their sales floor. Take a look at the slideshow below to find some examples of how a few Orgill customers have successfully put together these displays. You may discover a few new ideas you can try in your store, too!
Make the price highly visible and easy to read, as illustrated on this endcap at Jack's Hardware in Missouri. Try putting seasonal displays on endcaps, to create a sense of urgency to your customers.
Put related items on the same endcap, as Lumber Direct in Pennsylvania did here, to make it easy for customers to pick up everything they need for a project in one place.
These endcaps at Lumber Direct show the importance of placing product so it fills the shelves completely. Also, all products should be fronted and forward-facing so customers can easily read labels and pick up whatever products they are looking for.
Try using additional signage on the different shelves of an endcap, so customers can clearly find any extra information. Here, Elliott's Hardware, which has five locations in Texas, posted some small signs on the endcaps to clearly mark prices for different products featured.
Endcaps are a good place to add extra signage. Parkrose Hardware, which has four locations in Washington and Oregon, makes it easy to change out this signage by using a chalkboard, which can be updated as frequently as desired, without any extra paper or printing required. Endcaps also offer a good opportunity to showcase add-on items, such as the gloves pictured here.
Add signage with your logo to your endcaps as a way to help market your store, even as customers are shopping your aisles, just as Higginbotham Brothers, with nearly 40 locations in Texas, did here.
In addition to clear signage promoting your store and its products, make sure endcaps are fully stocked. The small signs included on individual rows make it quick and easy for customers to see the different prices for different products.
